Did you know that Idaho leads the United States in barley production? Add to that a #3 ranking in hops production, and it's no surprise that Boise is home to a number of terrific breweries. Raise a glass at these wonderful locations recommended by our real estate agents.
- Cloud 9 Brewery - 1750 W. State St., Boise, ID 83702
So what is a nanopub? As the first such establishment in Boise, Cloud 9 Brewery produces beer in batches of three barrels or less. This allows for extensive variety, as flavors change as soon as the previous batches are gone. Cloud 9 also uses locally sourced and organic ingredients in their beer and food. The family- and dog-friendly restaurant is known for its decadent mac & cheese, with a number of available add-ins, as well as a rotating selection of creative desserts such as beer-amisu. Cloud 9 is open Wednesday through Sunday from noon - 9 p.m.
- White Dog Brewing - 705 W. Fulton St., Boise, ID 83702
White Dog Brewing promotes the philosophy of "fetching the good life." Their unique cans feature pictures inspired by local residents around Boise homes for sale, sharing activities with their precious pooches. A 24-foot frost rail keeps beer flavors such as Blood Orange Hefeweizen, Blackberry Sour, and Vanilla Cream Ale as you relax with Fido and your two-legged friends. Smoke and Thyme, a 40-foot food truck parked outside, provides tasty pub fare such as the Bacon and Beer Burger and the signature White Dog Fries with cheddar gravy, bacon, and chives. Hours are noon - 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon - 6 p.m. Sunday.
- Powderhaus Brewing Company - 9719 W. Chinden Blvd., Garden City, ID 83714
When you walk into Powderhaus Brewing Company, right down the street from Garden City homes for sale, you'll feel transported to a charming cabin up in the mountains. The ambiance is in keeping with the selection of Alpine-inspired brews, including Snow Blind Hazy IPA and the popular Hot Haus beer. Be sure to try the pickle-flavored Gherkin Gose. Powderhaus has no kitchen, so you're welcome to bring your own food as well as your well-behaved dog. Follow them on Facebook for information about live music events. Hours are 3 p.m. - 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon - 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon - 7 p.m. Sunday.
